Beautiful boat there, how about some particulars for those of us who don't recognize her model. Looks like plenty of strings to pull should the desire strike.

thanks H-A

the tiny little invoice for maritime recovery and salvage is on it's way

my agents in such matters suggest it should closely resemble the national debt of Bolivia

Actually HA I said the UK's national debt, but he argued that was way too much!

But I still get 10% + VAT

for Phil ...

she's a 14 ft gaff rigged, tops'l yawl with a flying jib

This is her light air rig, and in even in this I sail her single handed

she's a Kittiwake, built by Mad Roger up in Macclesfield, that internationally known yachting centre of excellence, .. http://www.kittiwakeboats.co.uk/
and I've subsequently ammended her with a bit more rag

Neil you forget that the crankshaft straightening and bearing replacement may be offset against salvage charges. :)

Have just spent 3 hours polishing up on my maritime law, then remembered we were on the Thames. :D

Next time to avoid tow pictures I will river test my engines before I bring them. The AC ran all day until the transom bracket broke, so it was not a total disaster. The ON was always a little low on compression, it was even lower after thrashing it up and down.

As I have owned seagulls for just less than 1 year, my learning curve has been steep. Now I know rule 1 is they are not always reliable and reliability can be directly proportional to the age of the engine. :)

BBQ would be good. I like the idea of doing the whole non tidal length of the Thames, camping near pubs would be good.

ahhh ...yes... of course ...um....my errant crankshafts ...on sale or return with H-A's after hours engineering dept ...

now what did I do with those Lloyds salvage demands ??..Oh bugger.. what a shame, ....the dog seems to have eaten them ..Oh well..

For any who have the slightest interest, a sauntering trip down the Thames (given good weather ) is one of life's 'must do's '

with a bit of company, the pubs, the locks, sights and sounds ...utterly brilliant
turns the most hardened of us into boy-ish 'Swallows and Amazon adventurers'
