John is going to be out of action for a bit!!

Post by John@sos »

Hello folks,
I am going in to get my back sorted and as of Thursday will be out of it for about 10 days.

I am certain the forum will look after itself and I leave it in the good hands of Charles, Rick and Charles!

I will not be able to answer mail for a bit, so hopefully owners will see the messages on the home page and leave help messages on here.

Trying to sort out loose ends in next day or two, see you all shortly!

Regards,
john

Hello folks, at the last moment it has been put back a week, so still here for a few more days to answer queries and send parts!

I have to say a big thankyou to all who have mailed me, and left messages to wish me well, I'm blushing!

Expect to be out of action for a bit more than ten days, though.

All the best, and thanks for all your help.

Delayed op!

Post by John@sos »

Hello all, thanks for all the comments and mails!

Spoke to a Seagull owner this week who was up and raring to go back after less than 10 days, has just had the same op... Here's hoping!

Devout coward as I am, and as I feel a total fraud at the moment, no pain, it is only the thought of all the lost sailing days that keeps me on the docs list!

Hope to be in Thursday and out of action for 10 days myself, so back about 14th of August!

Happy seagulling to all!

Now stay in bed and be good!

The weather is having an off week, this week, so you are not missing any sailing.

The thing about sailors is that they are frequently completely unable to stay off the water.

A mate of mine had a compound fracture of the wrist last year, and the day after I went over to see him all plastered up I encountered him on the water - he was sailing his 22 foot craft single handed (literally).

I wish you a speedy recovery from the op, John. Good luck.

OK Folks I'm Back!

Post by John@sos »

Not heaving Silver Centuries about yet, but just about back to speed with spares! Better every day! 2 weeks since surgery and I was on the boat running up the motor and trying the car out, will be boating and driving in a week I rekon!

Very pleased with the op, new proceedure and pleased to have the chance to be one of the first.

Thanks to all for the phone calls and mails, and a special thankyou to all who have been aswering queries for others in my absence, well done, The Spirit of Seagull!
