Interesting light - what, just about sunset (or sunrise...) with what looks like a well cared-for Forty Plus?
Amazing engines, these things.

...yes the sun went down as a huge orange ball...we have had some forest fires accross the province in the past while and the smoke drift has been quite extensive making for some fab sun sets.
The little engine is a forty minus and I have just reserected it from a very rusted and corroded mess...the piston took three days of heat and penatrating oil and wooden block pounding to get out of the cylinder...I had some new old rings and with a light criss cross hone I have got 95lbs PSI compression and it gets better every time it is run...I am so taken with these engines...my other engine a long shaft 5/6HP? looks huge in comparison...it was missing a carb and some ignition bits that I have scrounged up and just today I was happy to see a nice fat spark. This one was not ceased and is only 5psi down from factory specs...I have found some hammer tone light grey that is a very close match to the original paint...it should be quite a stunner when I have it finished...it is going to be used to push a 25' sailboat out into the harbour...the boat is from the 40's so it should be quite a sight in appearance and sound.
