Wintery or what?

Just went down to check out the boat. The toilet has about an inch of ice , and the diesel is so cold it just doesn't want to turn over, A film of frost over everything external, and half a film of frost on the Seagull EFRN onm the shadow side.

Sheets of ice in the marina, which I have seen once before, and sheets of ice out in the harbour itself, which I haven't.

Wonder how many boats along this coast will start to sink when it thaws?

Hope my boat is not one of them.
I have not been able to to get to check mine over due to the road conditions.
It has been left on moorings with a fridge full of milk and food for nearly five weeks.
Am expecting the worse as the fridge will have shut down long ago on low voltage.
I did drain the fresh water system, and engine has plenty of anti freeze so may be OK.
My Seagull 102 is still on my tender, open to the weather but I think it would take another ice age to
damage it.
I keep thinking that I should try to drive over and check it ,but after an hour out walking the dog
Keep thinking its too cold, will go tomorrow.

I have to count my blessings!

Just a tad over 40 degC at the moment............not a cloud in the sky.

We do not see clouds here.

Went back again this morning, what a difference. The daytime temperature has risen maybe eight degrees, and the sheet ice has gone

The toilet is thawed out, so has the fresh water.

And the diesel - which yesterday just wanted to stay asleep - eventually started after decompressing and struggling, and I gave her a half hour run under load. The little gas cylinders would only produce gas after keeping one down my jeans for a while, but it felt good to have a cup of coffee and watch the wildlife in the marina and out on the harbour.

I seem to have got away with the freeze this time.
