Saving Old Seagulls

As much as I love my motors the reality is, with a spinal cord injury, motors and I must part. I can donate them to the maritime museum, but alas they will be archived and collect dust. I much rather them to go to an engineering enthusiast that can do them justice. Appreciate a local so I can see how they progress.

I'll keep a couple of favourites though.

I could put them on ebay but it would be a shame to break a collection. Still considering all options.

Sorry to hear about your injury dammed heavy those bongos. Hope you find a suitable candidate to share your affliction with. When Seagulls where invented you would have simply found yourself a servent to do the lifting. Not PC I know, have you thaught about a engine hoist?

The main problem is getting them into a wheelie bin for testing. I'll have to devise another method. Lifting on to a transom is ok as the leg doesn't need to go so high. Living in a block flats doesn't help as I cant build a permanent structure to attach a pulley. I'll wait until the back comes good again before making a decision. I'll probably retire to a house in the bush in the next few years. I'll stick to forties for a while.

Had a mob contact me Mens Sheds http://www.mensheds.org.au/ that has a program to help lads out of jail take up an interest and they wanted me to let them work on the motors but reckon they will get nicked. Interesting idea though.

Yes I see your problem Hugz, those from Ramsey Street complaining about the sound of a roaring two stroke in the bath. It can often offend those who don’t understand the importance of such things. At least the next floods won’t affect you unless you’re on the ground floor?
