1943 SD for sale

Hello,
I have a 43 model SD for sale. The motor is complete apart from the thrust block. It runs but really needs restoring. A very early model with the Marston type cases which do not have "Seagull" cast into them.
It looks pretty original to me, old type MK1 magneto, bronze clutch lever, brass exhaust tube, steel tiller handle etc. It has a later type brass tank as they all seem to have, I think the original steel ones did not last this long. Also not correct is the chrome type throttle lever, should it be brass? The bracket is bronze, the alloy one in the pics was damaged and I replaced it. I have also had a look in the gearbox and it is in excellent condition.
I would like to see this motor restored, if I get no takers then it can stay stashed away and I may do it myself one day!
Motor is in Southampton, would prefer buyer to inspect, collect etc. I am looking at £100 for this motor which i think is a fair price. Call me on 07824-409711 if you'd like to come and have a look.
Thanks,
Billy.

Can you post some better pictures, showing the top of the magneto, the gearbox nipples, and the carb? Does it have the ministry inspector stamp on the skeg, also what is the engine number?

Yes, no problem. Seems like quite a lot of interest in this motor. I can't see any stampings on the motor, I know the ones you are talking about.

Excellent, looks like a good project, most of the correct items are there apart from a few later parts fitted. I think that's a fair price too. Look forward to seeing the strip and rebuild!

The motor is spot on :D

one interesting thing that I have not seen before is that the crank case is a slightly different shaped casting and without he Seagull logo embossed, it's identical to my ON casing, same quality also, you guys no doubt know this I just never noticed it.

And Adrian, it's 137, nuts or what!
