Saving Old Seagulls

I know this is a long shot , but does anyone know where I could get hold of a barrel and piston for a 78cc Marston , I have the chance of buying one , not quite sure which model , but it has an FNR gearbox , and advance and retard system fitted.

That'll be an OF then - all the other FNR Marstons were 102cc.

The chances of you finding one are slim at best I'm afraid; it's the barrels that go.

If you still have the remains of the old one a repair just may be possible - there are one or two on this forum who have done this successfully.

Naturally you wouldn't want to use it very much.

Thanks Charles , unlike most people , I would want to use it , for me that's where I get my enjoyment....actually using them.
A great shame about the barrel , as the rest of the motor is in remarkable condition.
I've put a few feelers out elsewhere , if nothing comes of these , I would have no hesitation in not buying it , I just can't be doing with motors cluttering my shed up , that I can't hear running.
