Sliding tiller arm on these Hugo, 360 degree rotation, when you want to reverse, slide tiller arm all the way in, rotate motor 180 degrees, grab hold of tiller to steer, rotate tiller to operate throttle, like a twist grip, Clever!

I have a fairly early one of those, interesting engines but little or no spares availability. I suspect that this one has a later magneto fitted from the later power head as fitted to midi and the britannia inboard.
the weak spot is the cooling system which does not have a tell tale and thus you don't know if water is flowing or not.
also the magneto uses a coil with a dual output, I bought the last NOS one a Birmingham parts dealer found and he assured me he had no more, so it is quite likely that coils are unobtainable.

This is a water scoop one, Oyster, not the vacuum prop version, so has positive water feed, & it has the Villiers twin spark coil not the Lucas, was yours a Mk 1?

Try Peter Hunn, The Old Outboard Book, most have it.
