I need advice.
A sailing club bore told me that instead of using a split pin to keep the propeller on, it is possible to use a R clip.
Has any one any knowledge of such use?

They work well. Make sure the fitment is correct.

For ultimate "Stay On" nothing beats the split pin though.

I carry a couple of 'R' clips with my spare prop spring/spares kit, easier to fit should you need to change a spring in a hurry but split pins work well for me and look nicer.
