Saving Old Seagulls

At last after many tries to register(with emails to John) I have at long last succeeded in joining this illustrious club. I have wanted a Seagull for many years but without a boat the purse holder couldnt understand why!! So now owning my first boat she didnt have an answer!! I have bought a 40 plus mk2 for £20 as a non runner and after 30 mins she now runs lovely(not the purse holder, a bit more work req there!!!). So as an aux engine she was confined to the cabin as I had' bought a BIG Merc 25hp as the main thruster. After 1 week the merc stopped yet Shirley Shitehawk on the 2nd pull fired into life, thankfully. So the moral of this little dit is ???non really just happy to have a real engine to relay on...

I joined for some help with a 40-, now I scour the pages of ebay and gumtree
looking for another model to add to my collection
we are moving and the only thing I am looking for in our next home is somewhere big to store them

What's the next motor going to be, you cannot possibly have just 1. (they'll quickly breed out of control if you let them)

Hi CEEBEE I joined Glamorgan on her sad return to Pompey stoker branch. I have got the seagull bug get it out everyday to look at and see if anything has changed on it !!!Luckily I dont have any room for more BUT I do have my eye on one that is at a car boot every sunday !!!I would love to ditch the merc but tides in and out of Looe are quite strong so I need a big engine. Will be using the gull to troll around fishing tho.

Well I took off the ,(sorry about this bit) my main merc 25 as its off to hospital for fixing so as the transom was mt put Shirly on. TOLD my wife to come out and listen to Shirley squarking. Being the average female really couldnt give a s**t. but for me she came outside...Started Shirley up and when running lovely glanced around to see a BIG smile on her face and when looked at her she said "That sounds great" !!!!Cracked it !!!Now trying to justify another one !!

Well, that might sound like good news, but it's probably not.

If she likes the damn things, your collection will surely grow rapidly and consume all your spare time and space as others have already warned.

My wife couldn't understand when I purchased my first one, and it's a good thing she hasn't visited my shed. Somehow, I've managed to sneak in over 40 vintage outboards, without her knowledge.

I'm sure she'll have a fit when she eventually finds out.
