Looks like FV2844 to me.
Tiller has been "replaced" at some point as has the throttle. And what's with the "thingy" at the end of the tiller?
Cylinder head on the opposite side to the carb looks like there's a bit missing at the water outlet?
Nice little project for you B.
Good score.

Definitely a little odd, with no transom tilt lock and no way of fitting one by the looks of it, strange.

Yes very odd indeed. It looks like what is there should be there though?
Carry Device? It looks like a finger grab.
It just fits so well. I know of nothing that could even be adapted....
Time will tell.

Can you make use of this Bruce?
It's from a very dead FV of similar vintage to yours that is fit for spares and nothing else.
It's missing the brass pin, the aluminium hook and a split pin, but apart from that it's all there with no cracks or fractures
PM me if you're interested!

Very nice Bruce they do pop up and they do make great axillary motors I love mine.
re the tiller its a stub tiller that has been replaced with an aluminium pipe but the stub is in place so a correct length brass painted black tiller could be fitted. Don't know where you can get a Dove grip from though as I noted previously I usually try to pick them up already fitted to the tiller but having said that I have never seen one on a stub tiller for sale separately. Jeremy may be able to help
Do you need more steel plates?

No, I am afraid I haven't got a spare Dover grip. In fact I would like one. I think there are two patterns of Dover grips. I must try to photo them.
It is really nice to see another early FV appear, This one 2844, probably/possibly shared the same work bench as my 2821 in the late summer of 1950.
It is interesting to note that 2844 hasn't got the latter strengthening web above the stub tiller on the top crankcase.
I would be interested if the Fuel Mixture decal is still visible or even the size of the decal if there is a 'shadow' left on the paint surface.

Slightly off topic...did AOB Collector hint at an up coming meet here in the West (Australia). I only have one seagull but I would be keen for someone who knows to check it over....apparently one is not enough anyway?

Email regarding meet sent to your Westnet account.
Back on topic now B.
Fuel line replaced at some point, as methinks it should be the looped metal fuel line?...allegedly yours is older than mine so makes sense...
Carb missing air intake semicowl that screws on in front of choke assembly, look at pics.

Yes Boyd well spotted.
What internal hole diameter of the carb inlet cowl would you expect if, indeed, this carb is 7/16" ?
Early daze yet but that is a cool question aye.
