Re: transum bracket
Think I've still got 4 new ones, a favourite with the racers, 10% of the weight of a standard bracket, just remove the pin to remove motor, & still tilts.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Re: transum bracket
been using one for years and have a spare one as well, they cut down the vibrations.

Re: transum bracket
Probably quite a bit lighter and possibly able to absorb some of the vibrations through a transom.
Quick, light and easy.
Wouldn't mind one for my boat but only at second hand prices. They do come up from time to time though.
Interesting...

Re: transum bracket
The Insulastic bolt on bracket seems to be quite good. I have had one in use for my short shaft Silver Century plus and it gets a fair bit of use. I have never seen one for 40 series engine however. Only problem with the bolt on design is that you can't easily use the engine on another boat unless you have a spare clamp on bracket.

40 brackets - bronze - new by the look of them.
Re: transum bracket
I think I will have to keep my eyes open for a plastic bracket for the 100.

Re: transum bracket
I think we all have one or two of BS's useful add-on parts, like the boat transom mount, useful, the carrying handle, not so useful and the tiller extension for that high speed getaway.
I always wanted an axillary motor mount, not that I have see one for some time now, like this emergency spares kit, useful, but not going to be used any time soon, still using a 8 Com spark plug.
