I would love that....I am too chicken to pull mine apart. Actually pulling it apart is easy, its the putting back together that worries me. You can use my motor if you want, I'll pay for parts and a slab (of beer) for whoever does it!

Time taken to reassemble a totally stripped Wipac forty plus.

Very common motor, fully stripped including carb and gearbox, reassemble and run, should be 10 to 15 minutes.

I have always considered James May to be the weakest member of the motoring team and in fact a very boring person on his own.
He seems to always struggle with the script especially when he wants to appear in charge.
A very replaceable person who gives the impression he is an vital part of the team which is far from the truth.
About as strong and committed as Neville Chamberlain .
Soft, wet, unimpressive .
Yet so many fawn over him.
Why.
There must be innumerable members on site here who have more charisma and stature that this pretender.

It's a far cry from what it used to be.....


Of the trio, i still think "captain slow" was the more down to earth of the bunch.

And yes i'd like to see some vids of re-assembling a common seagull in under 15 minutes! (i could put one together in around 2 1/2 hours and even that's going some)

It was kind of interesting to watch, but it was pretty basic stuff,a beginners guide really.
What was it a mower, done a handful of them, a guitar, I rebuilt the same model myself, got rid of a handful of them when I realised I couldn't play the things, but not my 57 Hofner.
Also a telephone, if I remember correctly it was a GPO 332, or without a dial a 332CB and I rebuilt one out of two of them yesterday, to go with my 150, Gecophone, genie, cobra, monkey butt, leather trimphone and W28 and he didn't even have to do any wiring either.

If it's done with a Seagull, it should be just a basic reassemble and leave out the ignition and gearbox, as you have variations of those parts and they would need to be covered separately.
I would do it, but unfortunately I don't have a camera crew handy.

Ok I will dig one out, and take it to bits when I get a chance, I still think 10 to 15 minutes is realistic.
