Carb has had a good clean up all back together as should be
Push the tickler to get the fuel going
Problem is that the fuel won’t stop flowing from the tickler
It is also dripping from the choke housing
Stripped it down again the float is moving freely
All back together same thing
The fuel needle is in the correct spot

Remove the float bowl & turn on the fuel, does raising the float stop the fuel flow?

This is an Amal 416 carb?

Yes it is the Amal 416
Looks like I have found the problem
The two little arms that come down to hold the brass pin for the float
One has been snapped sometime or other
There has been a small hole drilled up one of the arms
With a small piece of copper wire put through it
And tied so the brass pin can go through it and line up
With the other existing hole
Obviously not a good idea
I will try to post a couple of pics

That carb is dead, try asking John Williams see if he's got a 416 body, as thats all you need.
