Clutch rod thread + any exhaust tube tips?

Hello,
Can anyone confirm if the clutch rod thread is 1/4 BSF? It's apparently the only die I don't have in 1/4 to check.. Before I buy one!
And.. Can anyone give me any tips regarding a tight fitting exhaust tube? I've had plenty stiff ones in the past, and tend to just manage with a bit of messing (should I rewrite that?) .. But, I've just put together a new leg and it would be nice if there were better way.. Even after a thorough cleaning of both tube and mating surface, it's very tight.
