Stuck EFNR prop pin

Post by CatiGull »

Promised myself I would get the EFNR running this season.

My prop pin was completely stuck in the prop shaft, and on trying to get it out I have now added both a punch and a drill bit to the hole

I have oxy acetylene but am thinking perhaps I should take this to a shop and have it electrically burned out rather than apply all that heat to my gearbox.

Any ideas on this??

I wish someone had some ideas on this, because I have the same problem on a silver century.

The sure way to do this is to find a machine shop with EDM, which stands for Electro Discharge Machining...basically an electrical arc which will burn out the metal in a small area.

Well, ive had completely conflicted advice on grinding out this pin with a Dremel tool - one person said it would work great, another said it wont.

I dont own one, but would like a shot at this working to justify the purchase.

Anyone here familiar with that and have an opinion?
