Anzani Pilot or Minor
Hi all,
I'm keen to give an Anzani a go (i know, technically blasphemy, but the Anzani forum is quieter than quiet!). Ideally a non-running old heap which has all the parts so can be made good again with a little effort. Not so keen on a Super Single as they look a tad loud and heavy. I often travel between Plymouth and Maidenhead and I don't want to spend a bomb!
PM or email me richarddavidwoods@hotmail.com
Kind regards,
Richard

Hmmmm I have googled the hell out of it but cannot find an Anzani Pilot schematic. There is user manual and parts list on the Anzani Forum, but no measurements/technical data on parts sizes...
Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
Have you not got the original one?
Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
Hi Keith,
Thinks you may have misread my original post! I don't have an Anzani yet, I am after one to do up! Anything going? Currently in Maidenhead if that's near anyone? Also after a Forty/Forty plus drive shaft +impeller.....

Richard you could always look out for the posh looking Pilot
I believe the inside is the same as a pilot but the exterior is much more modern

Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
Your right, just a recoil starter and a nice cover, but still a basic Anzani.
Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
Hmmmm i am somewhat less taken by the Sea Maid visually. I want lots of polished metal on show having oggled some of the vintage Johnson twins on youtube so white cowlings are just not doing it for me at the moment... Maybe for my summer collection??
Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
Your going to need deep pockets if you like the vintage Johnson twins, more copper and brass to rub the higher the price.
You could always go for a cheaper British motor.

It will have to come out in the summer for a polish, again and again.

Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
My birthday is in July Bruce, if you want to send me an Olympic.
Failing that, a Kylie would be nice, as I think they have a real good lower unit.
Do you want me to email you my address?

I was checking out your Coventry on youtube Keith, very cool indeed! I'd certainly be keen on one of them!
Also does anyone know if any of the more powerful Anzanis stayed in the UK? Unitwin etc?

Re: Anzani Pilot or Minor
There's a few Unitwins about, they don't seem to fetch much money, 10 or 15 hp & weigh I'd guess 90 lbs, not considered very collectable.
The pilot was one of the first loop charged outboards, started off in 1948 with 1 1/2 hp but by 66 was up to 3 hp, produced up to 1982 when Anzani died.
A well engineered, well built little workhorse, worth the effort.

That's one motor I would like a unitwin, but most I have seen always have covers missing.
Anyway I think C.I. has most of then.
Anyone need a Yamaha 9.9d, 84 model before it goes on, You know where.
