Anybody's guess

Is there anybody out there who can guess what this is (well, maybe not so hard). And I don't mean the workmate :)

Just wanted to share now when the forum is up and running again.

I'd guess at a 40 series side mount bracket, or maybe it was to hurry up the water flow in one of your small drainage canals using a 40+.

Do I get a prize for having no idea?
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Quite right Charles, a side bracket for a 40+. My father had i made in the early 60's for the then new Seagull I am still using.

Originally it had a flat piece of mahogany to mount the standard bronze bracket on, but after a few years he realized that less is more and had it remade.

The advantage of side-mounting is that you can pull the starter cord from behind the motor, the motor will not tilt up when the cord is pulled. The disadvantage is that when you hoist sails again and the boat starts to heel over the motor gets a bath.

The bracket is for sale next spring, should anyone be interested. It is located in Sweden.
