I would be thinking the same?
What is the story with this then I wonder?

More pics and some proper details of stock holding, business record of sales, customer base and an ABN with GST registration would be required for any serious consideration.

I bought a stash like this 5 years ago, & John gets 1 or 2 every year.
Many years ago if you wanted to be a Seagull distrubitor you had to buy the full spares package, I've no idea what that cost or comprised of, but this looks like every other one of those, all of the bits that sell well, have sold & your just left with the hard to sell bits, mind you there are some new drive shaft tubes, that are hard to find nowadays.

No Hugz, they're not mine. My stash is limited to a Foty plus & a Featherweight.

Hi, all
Have been in touch with the vendor and have separately had three Seagull parts retailers 'vet' the list of spares and the prices he's asking and the consensus is he wants WAY too much for what is mostly old tat.

There's a few NOS drive tubes and a few NOS gearbox casings, but nothing rare or exciting, and most of the rest is overpriced bolts and nuts that wouldn't sell in ten years.....virtually no gaskets, springs or anything that sells....obvioulsy, all sold years ago.

Have contacted our Tassie guys to see if they can track the vendor down and do an 'on-site' recce to confirm, and perhaps sound the guy out to purchase at least some of the useful stuff.....see what happens and post back...

But get this, he's asking AU$5000 on Gumtree for the lot (including two dead motors partly stripped and a few odd-bod 2nd hand spares) and when I emailed him he 'generously' offered it to the Oz Seagullers for AU$7000. :?: :?:

I reckon it's worth about AU$500 to $1000, absolute max, and only if not wanting to sell for a profit (ie: if a few of us 'clubbed in' together to buy them to save them from the scrapper).

But I'm going to call all the scrap dealers in Tasmania, just in case he dumps the lot without telling us....

I have a box of new gearbox casings & it's only the featherweight ones that ever get used, they don't come with anything except the prop shaft bearing, no pinion bearing sleeve.

Bits that your never going to use have no value, the only parts that should sell are the drive shaft tubes, if I was in Tassie I would offer $250, but I'm not conversant with your prices, I've just translated what I'd pay if they were a drivable distance away from me in the UK.
