I believe it is a Johnson Junior Sea Horse

My guess is 2.8hp, looks very much like a 1933 OB-65.

Which means it is almost identical to my other engine, Bronze gear case, brass exhaust, bronze prop, for UK market .

The same as this advert

I may need to go american bling with this one, but I have been asked by collectors in the states and Canada not destroy the Decal.

There is a good chance the carb could fit yours Keith.

One of my projects at this moment is a 1932 Johnson OB-70.

A Dutch AOMC member gave me an OB-65 or 70 parts motor to complete the project.

Let me know what you need for your Johnson 1934 project.

I'm still looking for an OB muffler and downpipe to complete my project.

Hi H-A,

A copy of the parts book will be perfect to continue the project.

Is the part book hard copy or PDF?

If the part book is hard copy I can wait till Hayling Island 2013.

Thanks, Jan

Picked it up, It was found in a boat yard on the river Cam on Cambridge, so nice river engine.
small cam.jpg

It is an OB L-70 (longshaft) serial number 211208. How did you find yours is 1932 Jan? what date is this?

cam3.jpg

The exhaust tube has been modified at some point, will know more when I take it apart.

Has a great bronze prop

There is good compression and a spark, cylinders are good, is the exact same model as the Canadian one that I bought with duff cylinders, so making one good one from two should be no problem.

Have just had some information from AOMC member

"Hi.I have an ob-70,but is waukegan built. This is 1934.Your canidian built ob-70 is 1935.These engines were built for the over seas market. They also built a single model called JB-70.The canidian ob and jb models were only built in 1935 as the americans built 1934 and 1935.thanks jon koranda"

Jan looks like your engine may be 1934-35.

What engine number is yours Jan?

Your right, an OB(L)-70 is 1934.

I mixed-up the year with another project.

My Waukegan build OBL-70 s/n is 211215.

Waterbug from this forum gave me also a lot of information and parts for this Johnson export model.
