Re: FVP tank
They didn't use the same decal as the round tank FVP, seems odd, I gather you haven't got the original transom mount.
Better chrome work than my two.

Re: FVP tank
Yes, I have a original plated transom bracket, which will replace the one that came with it. It's still in bits in one of my boxes somewhere.
The chrome is ok on this one, but it is starting to lift off in places. When I get around to finding some tube, I am going to make some new FV/FVP legs. Too many other things to do at the moment.
Nice engine for £35 I think, from a guy in Northhampton.

Re: FVP tank
My enthusiasm for these little ones continues unabated. Nice job, good to have another one back in captivity.
Re: FVP tank
I was looking for the transom mount that goes around the base of the engine and not around the drive tube.
I found that my FVP has more speed in it than a 102. £35 was a very good price, I paid that for my two, one of my favorite Seagulls only the tank to do on number two and that's finished.

Re: FVP tank
This engine does not have that mount, as it does not have the machined diameter that the FV has. Heres a pick of my FV which does have the mount ring that sits above the clamp.
Not sure if all FVs had this feature though. CharlesSP will know.

Re: FVP tank
It must be just the FVP's that have that mount then, seems odd to have a different mount on the same year same model motor, just because of a plus gearbox.
Re: FVP tank
Charles P doesn't know. He'll have to pop out to the workshop tomorrow...
The side caps of your tank had me scratching my head, now it's the rest of it!

Re: FVP tank
Lets not start on about tiller arrangements then!
Re: FVP tank
That one I'm confident about...

Re: FVP tank
A little newer.
FVP 5560
This one looks a lot better now.

Re: FVP tank
Oyster I'm not sure what you mean about the machined diameter. What I'm seeing on your photo looks pretty normal to me, apart from the lack of the brass sleeve which is, I think, normal for later FV crankcases.

Re: FVP tank
As you can see on Keith's and my pics all this FVP's have the large mounting lugs on the crankcase.
My FV 5090 has also the crankcase mounting lug.
Keith, are you still looking for the crankcase lug?

Re: FVP tank
If I know what one was I would could tell you.Keith, are you still looking for the crankcase lug?

Both my FVP's are complete, just need to paint and put back together.
Re: FVP tank
Hi Keith,
I thought your FVP was missing the mounting lug.
Good to hear your FVP's are complete.
I had to buy 4 to rebuild 1 good and working FV and FVP.
