Every time I quote my engine number I am told I have read it wrong.
When I put it in the site it tells me incorrect month code.
Can the experts cast some light please.

try it without the L4.

Probably SJP1784L, long shaft is it, not uncommon for the numbers to be mixed up.

Not a great photo but from the top of the gearbox to the clamps.
Is it a longshaft?

No its a standard shaft.
