not an early one but quite straight. LS35744 from 1956/57.

JEREMY, you would have seen this one last week!

LS11413 was sold on e bay a couple of days ago.

Is the new owner a forum member? I hope so, and I also hope that it is not going to be broken for parts.
With my very limited information on LS, this one is the earliest one that I am aware of.
Are there any other early, or indeed earier LS out there - perhaps just a crankcase?
Does anybody know if the LS was fitted with the bigger 1/2" dia Villiers carb; as opposed to the 7/16" for (certainly the earlier) FVs and FVPs?

Hugz - I forgot to answer your question about the fitting of the water pump housing to the tube with Fs. Yes, they are screwed together, as they were for all early FVs and FVPs. I do not know at what serial number it was changed to a clench bolt clamped assembly.

jeremy.
carb size on my LS is 1/2" (fairly late model i think)

i did have a cursory glance at the video of this last LS on ebay and thought better of it when i saw it running in the bucket with little water in it?
and what was more surprising the prop was barely turning as the revs rose and fell! possibly a broken drive shaft or prop spring disconnected?
