Where the flywheels painted when they were new.I have 3 gulls 2were golden 1 is silver. Stripped paint off of golds and painted 1 black it actualy looks good. So now I am wondering should I re-paint the silver.

Paint them pink, purple, black, blue, green or any colour you fancy.
I might also suggest different coloured spots - or petals - would really set off your little ensemble . . .

The Mk1 (Villiers magneto) were silver and described as such in parts manuals. The Mk2 (Wipac magneto) were bronze and so described.
Apart from those two I have no information.

The Villiers were not painted, just a machines aluminium finish. There was a period around 1967/8 when they were a Hammerite bluish greyish silver, then it was Hammerite bronze.
But as has been pointed out, if originality ain't your thing, then anything goes.
Just not DayGlo, please.

Dayglow - WOW!!!!!!!
In the 70's when I was a motor trader I thought body pin stripes were really cool.
So every car sold had them. In various colours and widths.
That superb voluptous cylindrical whirly drum thingy on the top of the engine now just lends itself to some imagination . . .

I'm thinking the vinyl LP centre label that 'Vertigo' records used back in the Black Sabbath days would be great but I think the motors rev too high to get the full effect
What size prop would you need to get enough power from 33 rpm?
