I am not sure, I still think steel tiller arm and rubber grip.

This is the picture Charles P posted, rubber grip, gear lever on other side, also different crank nut as you said Oyster.

The correct crank nut is just a big one made of brass, right?

Yes I would say so
But I am only basing that on the one I own, and others that have been on here,

Now there is a challenge, would need to look for a Greek sponsor.
How far is it?
3283.9 km by road, must be nearer 4500 km by sea, bay of Biscay, perhaps not.
Nice thought for a moment.
Will stick with doing the length of the Thames, had a vague plan of doing it this weekend, but weather is crap.

It's possible to reach the Med via the european canal system, 30+ miles to Dunkirk from Dover, then it's flat water all the way to the south of France, when you hit the Med turn left!

Now we are talking.
This may well be the trip of a lifetime.
Would make the Murray River run look like childs play
How long would the "turn left" bit be?

Just looked on Google Earth, looks like 2121 miles. Med bit looks a bit long, whole length of Italy.

Well have to get Stelios over here somehow...he can go back via the boat...he could pickup a few Gulls here to make it more worthwhile for him..and of course to power the boat ...

What a challenge!!
I will come to UK at some point, that's for sure. But I believe it would be high unlikely to return by boat.. Unfortunately!

OK, so is there any sailing boat available to sail to Greece?

Mines in a barn and not going anywhere fast...although it would be suitable for a trip like that... my mirror dinghy wouldn't be

John is circumnavigating the uk and probably not planning on carrying on the the med!

Well after reading John's "to do/to spend" list as he got ready for his voyage I am sworn off cruising in anything other then a beachable open boat LOL. I am thinking Stelios could take a Taxi home from Poole to Athens for about half the cost of outfitting for a voyage. Sailing is almost as expensive as sheep hunting.

skyetoyman would be happy just getting out in the loch. Far too windy for the last few weeks

Hi guys,
Waiting for the next Santa Claus to come to an end this restoration
The only thing that remains to be done is the tank. It's a brass one with some dents, not too bad. The problem is that with a putty I used on some other tanks I didn't get the desired results. Could you please give me your advice or a link to some previous topics about tank restoration?
Thanks a lot,
Stelios
