seagull brass

Post by billyboy »

would anyone happen to know the type of brass(composition etc.) used on seagulls and was it always the same through the years? and how different was it than the brass one might buy today? just curious

The highest usage of brass components by British Seagull was during the war, I imagine not a time when they were too worried about about the exact mix of their yellow alloys.

After the war the bearings were phosphor bronze, the transom brackets bronze & the exhaust crome plated brass.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
