Wider jaw mounting bracket?

Post by lurcherdog »

Hi; Just attempted to install my 40+ on another boat - won't fit! The newer boat has a thicker transom (GRP) and the mouth of the bracket could do with being about 3/8" - 1/2" wider. I've googled but nobody seems to mention the size of the gap. What is the solution? I don't want to resort to violence and sharp tools!
Best wishes,
Tom :?

There is a bolt on transom bracket for the 40 series motors, that doesn't have the G cramp bits, I'm sure John could find you one.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Thanks - I'm feeling more hopeful already! The bolt-on bracket idea sounds like a runner.
Best wishes,
Tom. :)
