"Cholsey Run this year"

Anyone interested in going for a Cholsey run this Summer.

I have not seen a few members for a couple of years, and there are a few new faces that have shown some interest.

Here is the first one we did, that was 5 years ago time flies.

This was us getting towed back Marstons are so reliable.

Anyone interested let us know, I can bring a couple of spare boats if people need to borrow one.

looked on the map, not too bad a run from bristol, roughly 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic.

Parking available even if a bit limited
kids can swim in and around the slip... more-or-less sandy... pretty spot

up river to Wallingford, pub on the bank
down river can go hassle Jackie at British Seagull

i've got a big (ish) boat at 16 foot with a cuddy up front.
might be looking for crew members with motors that need running if anybodys stuck for a ride?

just found out from mrs.hdau that i/we cant do 15/16 august.

How does Saturday 30th August sound to everyone?

Post bank Holiday so may be a little quieter.

Thames day licence can be purchased from lock keeper, if we are asked on the way to a lock

How heavy is your 16 foot boat Jon?

Slip is OK for trailer launch, blue has managed in the past with his big boat.

havn't put it on any weigh scales yet?

i cant imagine it being THAT heavy.
i can push the boat and trailer by myself on the drive with absolute ease, so approx. less than half a tonne (boat and trailer)

why do you ask.

only needs around 2 foot depth to float probably a bit less

launching can be a bit tricky, especially on a shallow sloped slipway

If I wasn't 10,538 miles away, I'd be there with bells on.
