Re: gears seized

Is your Gearbox a sealed one?

Drain gearbox oil, remove prop, remove gearbox end cap, remove prop shaft.

Now your problem should be self explanatory.

Re: Spark plug and gap.

On a 1981 motor if it hasn't been fixed before, you would expect to find a flywheel that has no groove on the outer diameter, this would imply your motor is fitted with a Mk 3 Wipac CDI (with white electronic components) these have a standard. plug gap of 35 thousands of an inch If your flywheel has...

Re: Tool help

you need a "1/4" BSF x 5/16 BSF OFFSET spanner", that's what Seagull used during assembly!

Nice pics!

I hear Steve Roberts got a record, give him my regards & tell him to be careful as he's getting too old for these pastimes.

Lots of us old timers don't do Facebook, so post more pics so we know what were missing .

Thanks Charles

Seagull Sport Wanted

Anyone have a Sport they no longer use, 4, 5, or 6hp, long or short shaft.

The southern half of the UK would be easiest for collection as I don't live far from Windsor Castle.

Re: Villiers coil/cam part

It might pay you to replace the wire connecting the points to the coil, some insulation on it might be useful.

Listen to John C. he knows his stuff!

Re: Recoil start, after market or original?

It rather looks like your featherweight has been upgraded by it's previous owner whose upgraded the ignition with a Wipac mk4 CDI, that from the look of the flywheel cover was recycled from a 170. The lower unit & prop also look a bit newer than this ones date of manufacture, but I'd have to ask...

Re: OA Parts

Bruce when these motors left the factory I can assure you the cylinder fitted the crankcase perfectly!

It either got broken or the parts got shuffled up, if you send me good pictures, in privately or in public I might be able to tell you where your problem lies.

Re: Marston OG rebuild

Bruce, we can list your standard size cylinder on the Marston Wish List should you require one, hate to think what one will cost.
This is the least common of all the Marston cylinders.

As I've never heard any mention of a 50mm 20 oversize piston with ring gaps suitable for a series one OA

Re: Boxed SD

Now that is interesting, but it does pose a few questions. Has anyone ever seen a green painted fuel tank with a Seagull logo underneath the paint? Must have been green as tank "straps" green. Air intake later fitting? Anyone in their 80's or 90's remember their father having "insulat...

Re: Seagull 110 Inboard !!

The outboard version wasn't fitted with the air intake silencer which sits where the fuel tank normally is fitted & the carb didn't have the cast aluminium inlet manifold, the air inlet was part of the cylinder.
